Metamorphoses by Ulrikka S. Gernes

The sun dies
like a swan of light
Birds extinguish their lightning
through the air
towards evening
Flowers fall asleep
softly leaning against the dark
Windows stare
into nothing

Half thinking
I lift my hand now and again
and caress
night's dense plumage
In the arms of sleep
fishes begin to speak
about the brevity of all things
and dreams kiss each other
passionately
in the land behind all borders
