Excerpt from Rhythms and Roads by Victoria Erickson

This year,
carry your aliveness
around like flowers
bursting from
open ribs
and scatter those
seeds across so many
miles and roads
that others
pick them up
along the way
so they too
can remember
how to bloom
as though our
wild earth
depended on it.
Because it does.
